Background

Ms. Jin is from Shanxi, China. She has been suffering from knee arthritis for more than four years. Ms. Jin reported that in the winter of 2011, she began to experience weakness and pain in both knees, and her knees could not tolerate cold. She once received acupuncture treatment at a local hospital. The pain was alleviated to some extent, but the condition was always recurring. In the winter of 2012, the symptoms worsened again, resulting in limited mobility of the knee joints and inability to walk. Therefore, her family sought treatment at other hospitals. In March 2015, she came to our hospital for stem cell treatment.

Pre-Treatment Condition(Before Stem Cell Treatment)
  • Mobility Restrictions: She couldn't bend her knees naturally; when ascending stairs or boarding a bus, she required the help of others; prolonged sitting would cause stabbing pain in her knees.
  • Tenderness: There was obvious tenderness (++) at the internal and external knee eyes and the fat pads of both knees.
  • Joint Mobility Degrees: The left knee's maximum flexion was 80° and external rotation was 10°; The right knee's maximum flexion was 100° and external rotation was 15°. Squatting was severely restricted.
Treatment Plan
  • One course of stem cell therapy
  • Surgical method: Intra-articular Treatment
  • Efficacy monitoring plan over 1 to 12 months post-treatment
After the First Course ofTreatment (1 month)
